The Players Cup at Polo Valley was an exhilarating week-long event that took place in the last week of June, offering participants an unforgettable polo experience like no other. Let’s dive into the exciting itinerary that our clients (-1 to 1 hcp) enjoyed, leading up to an incredible final sponsored by La Reserva Club, followed by a memorable asado by the lake, where they celebrated with friends, music, and a breathtaking sunset.
Saturday: Arrival and Welcome
Upon arrival, our players were warmly welcomed with a Meet & Greet session, where they had the opportunity to connect with fellow participants and the Polo Valley team. The atmosphere was filled with anticipation and excitement as everyone prepared for an action-packed week.
Sunday: Stick & Ball Training and Team Tactics
The players kicked off their training with Stick & Ball sessions in teams, allowing them to get a feel for the horses and fine-tune their skills. Later, they participated in Penalty Training, perfecting their technique for accurate and powerful shots. Team Tactics were discussed and practiced, ensuring seamless coordination on the field. The day ended with a Team Practice session, where players honed their teamwork and strategic gameplay.
Monday: Recovery and Tactical Refinements
To prepare for the upcoming tournament, players had the option of indulging in a relaxing physio or massage session. Team Tactics were revisited to further refine their strategies, ensuring a strong foundation for the matches ahead.
Tuesday: Advanced Skill Development
The players resumed their training regime with additional Stick & Ball sessions, refining their techniques. Team Tactics were reinforced, helping them develop optimal strategies and coordination for competitive play.
Wednesday: Rest and Recovery
As part of the well-rounded program, players enjoyed a well-deserved day off for rest and recovery. They had the opportunity to recharge and reflect on their progress, mentally and physically preparing for the days ahead.
Thursday: “10 Goal” Polo Day with Sapo Caset
A highlight of the Players Cup was the “10 Goal” Polo Day, a truly extraordinary experience. On this thrilling day, our players had the privilege of receiving intensive training and instruction from the legendary 10-goal player, Sapo Caset. His expertise and guidance elevated their skills to new heights, setting the stage for an exhilarating tournament. Players gained firsthand insights into professional-level gameplay, strategic decision-making, and high-level execution on the field.
Friday: Final Preparations
The players engaged in more Stick & Ball practice, focusing on precision and control. Penalty Practice sessions allowed them to fine-tune their accuracy under pressure. Optional physio or massage sessions were available to help players relax and rejuvenate before the final stretch of the tournament.
Saturday: The Grand Finale
The much-anticipated day arrived with a team meeting and briefing, setting the stage for the grand finale. The tournament commenced, with each team giving their all in pursuit of victory. The atmosphere was electric as players demonstrated their skills, determination, and passion for the sport.
Following the intense competition, the players gathered for the final sponsored by La Reserva Club, a state-of-the-art country club. La Reserva Club’s support added an extra touch of prestige to the event. The final match was a display of skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship, capturing the essence of the Players Cup.
To celebrate the successful conclusion of the tournament, an incredible Asado was held by the picturesque lake at Polo Valley. As the sun began to set, creating a stunning backdrop, friends, music, and laughter filled the air. Players savored delicious Argentine cuisine, sipped on refreshing drinks, and relished in the camaraderie and shared experiences.
