The Most Select Window into Polo in Southern Europe

Polo Valley is undertaking two impressive projects, The Owners Club and The Hills, with an investment of over 320 million Euros in Valle del Guadiaro, which consolidate and make this destination a haven for lifestyle and equestrian sport on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea and with unique views over North Africa and the Rock of Gibraltar.

A unique window onto the Mediterranean Sea, from which to look over to North Africa and the Strait of Gibraltar, to discover, enjoy and experience polo like no other destination in southern Europe. Polo Valley is developing two huge projects in Valle del Guadiaro that consolidate this location as the prime destination for polo in the south of the continent.

Two Groundbreaking Projects: The Hills and The Owners Club

The Hills in Torreguadiaro, and The Owners Club, in Casares, connect a commitment and a decisive step by Polo Valley towards the future of the luxury lifestyle and equestrian sport. A plan that involves an investment of over 320 million Euros in the area for its development.

“Everyone who discovers Sotogrande for the first time falls in love. That is normal, it has a unique lifestyle, an unrivalled climate and all the attractions around it that make it unbeatable such as its quality of properties, golf, polo, sailing, etc. No destination in the world is able to combine all of these qualities and that has driven us to want to create, through Polo Valley, a project of great importance that further elevates the quality of the destination and its positioning linked to polo and high quality”, explains Christian Byrne, from Polo Valley, the main backer of the project.

The Hills: Luxury, Sport, and Sustainability in One Vision

With regard to The Hills project, it will be located in the neighbouring town of just a few metres from Sotogrande marina and the Mediterranean Coast. “It is a very ambitious project that we have been working on for years, and it will be iconic in the area”, he states.

The development plan includes the construction of a polo pitch and a 5-star luxury hotel. The project is completed by 16 designer villas with stunning sea views; in an area named ‘The Boulevard.’ The reinterpretation of an Andalusian town with boutique shops, cafés, and luxury apartments. The project also plans a cutting-edge private hospital with a health and longevity centre, as well as underground parking with 500 spaces to preserve the natural area and pedestrian accessibility. All in an impressive area covering an area of over 34 hectares.

“We are delighted with this development and we have spent years taking care of all the details. We are going to take it step by step and its construction plan will go through different stages. The first phase includes the polo pitch, with panoramic views over the Strait of Gibraltar, as well as all the infrastructures and entrances”, outlines Byrne.

The Owners Club: Polo Valley’s Beating Heart

With regard to The Owners Club in Casares, it marks the total consolidation of the enclosure founded in 2015, Polo Valley. The project will be developed in a natural and unspoilt area next to these facilities and it will become a private haven for high level riders, teams, and polo organisations.

“The Owners is going to be the backbone of The Hills. The polo matches will take place on the pitch, while the rest of the time the horses will be at The Owners, looked after with the best service and care. Ideal for life with your horse” states the founder of Polo Valley.

The Owners Club involves the creation of 6 private stables with a total of 72 spacious boxes, a regulation sized competition polo pitch that will operate throughout the year, a global level equestrian exercise arena, along with other facilities, that will make the enclosure the largest of its kind devoted to polo in southern Europe.

Also, the enclosure will involve the creation of 25 stable and skilled jobs and it will be managed by specialised staff during the entire year.

Sustainability as a Core Principle

Byrne explained that both projects have emerged through the commitment of Polo Valley to sustainable growth, integration into the environment and the development of destinations where sport leads the lifestyle in Andalusia. “Sustainability is a key issue for us. The project is devised to create a sustainable space tailored to the environment we are in. This is essential to make it last over time” he highlights.

A major project that embodies the positioning and consolidation of Valle del Guadiaro as a true paradise and natural space bringing together sport, wellness, luxury and an unrivalled lifestyle in southern Europe.
